  my name is jessie, and welcome to the concrete catwalk!

i've always dressed myself as a means of artistic expression,
and i love taking on a new 'character' with each look i create.
i blog about my outfits (and many other things that excite me!)
as a way to share inspiration with others and am thankful
to all my readers to take the time to come by!

this site began as a street style blog in may of 2009, and has gradually developed into a place where i share my own personal style, DIY projects, healthy cooking, adventures in fashion & much more.

if you've already taken a look around, you may have noticed that a large majority of the pieces i wear are vintage and/or thrifted, and hunting down these treasures is one of my absolute favorite things to do! (you can shop for some of the overflowing fabulousness in my online vintage store!) most of the time, i allow myself a very limited clothing budget, because i feel as though it forces me to challenge myself to use what i have, as opposed to running out and buying the fast-fashion-version of every trend i fall in love with. 

i'm originally from scottsdale, az, but moved to kansas city in the summer of 2007 from our beloved sunny san diego. i now hop around between the three cities working and visiting family and friends, but am most at home spending time with my sweet husband & our precious furry daughter, sadie mae. each place that i've lived has had a significant impact on my style, and i love traveling because of the amazing fashion inspiration that it provides.

i'm a stylist and entrepreneur, and work very hard on my fashion consulting business, style & pepper. i provide services for a variety of things including, (but never limited to!): personal wardrobe styling, closet makeovers, photoshoot creative direction/styling, fashion forecasting, on-air style segments, visuals and merchandising for retail stores, event planning and strategic marketing for fashion-related businesses.
